Failure to Thrive

Failure to Thrive is the lack of will to live to the point that someone stops eating, drinking and overall stops taking care of themselves. I saw it on the ambulance- we had patients we would describe in pass off as 'Failure to Thrive' and that's all the nurses needed to know.
More so, we can see failure to thrive not just physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We can even see it among people today- a settlement for mediocrity and spiritual blindness, if not ignorance.
We all have a God-given potential, a purpose. Lack of faith can make us spiritually blind to this. Even more, there is healing work that needs to be done to understand our potential and even reach it. If we do not face what we need to, become aware of our actions and behaviors, or strive to be a better version of ourselves every day, then we are simply settling for mediocrity. We are settling for what the world has to offer, not what God has to offer.
We should want to do better for ourselves and be better for others. Lack of comprehension of what is greater can drive us to get frustrated, shameful, and begin to blame others for our problems. We become toxic and negative towards ourselves, feeding into the fear we may feel. That fear drives us deeply into mediocrity which ultimately leads us to fail to thrive.
Instead, lean into hope, lean into optimism, positivity and overall, faith. Don't be afraid to face what needs healing- we all must heal from something, we are all born the same, into sin as sinners.
The bible says 'don't be afraid' 365 times. Once a day we can remind ourselves- don't be afraid. The risk to step out of your comfort zone is worth it, always. The healing journey you step boldly into will take you to the greatest version of yourself and right to your purpose. Don't fall in line to the settlement of the world- the 'normal' of society- but instead choose to be great, purposeful. Choose to Thrive.
